Race Description
The swb-Marathon Bremen (AOK-Halbmarathon) follows a remarkably flat and fast route through the historic heart and green spaces of this classic Hanseatic city. The race starts and finishes in the spectacular setting of the central Marktplatz, shadowed by the UNESCO-listed Town Hall and the famous Bremen Town Musicians statue. Runners head out past the central train station and into the lush, shaded paths of the Bürgerpark before sweeping through the modern Überseestadt (the revitalized docklands). The final stretch takes runners on a long, scenic path right alongside the Weser River, culminating in a thrilling run directly through the Weserstadion (home to the Werder Bremen football club) before a final sprint down the Osterdeich back to the city center.
