Race Description
The King’s Palace Marathon takes place in Füssen in southern Germany, near the famous Bavarian royal castles. The race starts and finishes on Kemptener Straße in Füssen. The course follows a scenic route through countryside roads, forest trails and lakeside paths around the region. Runners pass along the shores of Lake Hopfensee and Lake Forggensee and through sections of the Lech River floodplain. Much of the route runs through natural landscapes with a mix of asphalt, gravel and forest trails. Along the course participants enjoy views of the iconic castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. Known for its peaceful scenery and relaxed atmosphere, the race attracts runners who enjoy nature and historic surroundings. With lakes, forests and royal landmarks along the route, the King’s Palace Marathon offers a unique marathon experience in Bavaria.
