Race Description
The Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon follows a fast and scenic route along the shores of Lake Ontario, combining long waterfront sections with views of downtown Toronto’s skyline. The race starts near University Avenue in downtown Toronto and quickly heads south toward the lake, where runners join extended stretches of road along the city’s waterfront. The long straight sections along the shoreline make pacing straightforward and are a key reason the race is known for being a fast and runner-friendly course. The terrain is predominantly flat, with an estimated cumulative elevation gain of about 76 meters. After the lakeside section, the course returns toward downtown streets before finishing back in the city center, where spectators line the final stretch to welcome runners across the line.
