Six Lakes Half Marathon

The 6 Sjöar Half Marathon follows a scenic route through the tranquil Swedish forests and lakesides just east of Uppsala. The race starts and finishes at the Fjällnora recreation area, heading out along a mix of quaint gravel country roads, short sections of asphalt, and forest trails. The half marathon course traces the shores of four distinct lakes—Trehörningen, Gårsjön, Ramsen, and Norrsjön—offering runners constant immersion in the natural landscape. Along the way, the route passes traditional wooden holiday homes and crosses the tracks of a historic steam railway. The terrain is mostly flat with only minor rolling hills, making it an accessible hybrid of trail and road running. The pristine Swedish summer setting, capped off by the local tradition of jumping into the lake immediately after crossing the finish line, creates a friendly and highly unique event.
