Race Description
The 21K of the 30th São Paulo International Marathon is one of South America's most prestigious half marathon distances, part of Brazil's most iconic annual road race weekend held in the financial capital of the continent. The course showcases São Paulo's dynamic urban landscape, winding through wide boulevards, cultural landmarks and green spaces, with long scenic straightaways that encourage steady pacing and strong performances. Starting and finishing at Ibirapuera, São Paulo's most beloved urban park and cultural hub, the route passes through the city's upscale southern and western districts, including stretches along Avenida Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek in the Itaim Bibi financial district, through the Cidade Jardim area, and into the sprawling campus of the University of São Paulo before returning to Ibirapuera. The race is held at 760m above sea level, which adds a modest altitude challenge for runners arriving from lower elevations.
