Race Description
The Roma-Ostia Half Marathon was born from athletics enthusiast Luciano Duchi's ambition to popularise road racing in Italy, the Roma-Ostia has grown over five decades into a full-fledged European road racing institution, combining historical heritage with sporting challenge. The race starts from Via Cristoforo Colombo at PalaEUR, running through the wide boulevards of Mussolini's EUR district and crossing the bridge over the scenic EUR Lagoon, before joining the long straight road south towards the sea at Ostia. The most famous and feared section is the "Camping" climb around the 10th kilometre, a 1.5km ascent followed by a long descent, after which the legs can open up on the fastest section of the course, finishing at Piazzale Cristoforo Colombo in front of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
