Reykjavik Half Marathon

The Reykjavik Half Marathon takes runners through Iceland’s capital and along scenic coastal paths that showcase the city’s unique landscape. The race starts on Sóleyjargata and finishes on Lækjargata in central Reykjavik, guiding participants along a route designed to avoid most city traffic while highlighting some of the area’s most beautiful natural surroundings. After approximately 10.5 kilometers, the runners take a u-turn toward the city, following the same scenic route before finishing in central Reykjavik. The entire course runs on asphalt paths and is mostly flat, with only a few gentle rises early in the race. With approximately 92 meters of total elevation gain, the terrain adds some variation without becoming overly demanding.
