Nairobi City Half Marathon

The Nairobi City Half Marathon takes runners through the Kenyan capital and along extended sections of the Nairobi Expressway, one of the city’s newest major infrastructure projects. The elevated roadway creates climbs and descents as the route moves across interchanges and overpasses before eventually returning toward the city streets near the finish area. The terrain is mostly flat to gently rolling, shaped by the gradual elevation changes of the highway ramps and elevated segments rather than steep hills. While the route itself is relatively runnable, the event is held at high altitude, roughly 1,795 meters above sea level, which can make pacing more demanding for runners who are not accustomed to thinner air.
