Race Description
The Maratón Medellín 21K follows a rolling, net-downhill route through the vibrant streets and lush greenery of Colombia’s “City of Eternal Spring.” The race takes runners on an energetic tour of the Aburrá Valley, offering sweeping views of the surrounding Andes mountains. Runners follow long, dynamic stretches alongside the Medellín River before weaving through leafy residential neighborhoods, modern urban corridors, and lively commercial districts. The terrain features gentle climbs balanced by an overall elevation loss, making it an excellent course for a rhythmic pace, provided runners respect the city’s 1,500-meter base altitude. The mix of temperate tropical weather, passionate local crowds, and striking mountain backdrops creates a vibrant and distinctly Colombian urban race experience.
