Race Description
The Media Maratón de Lima is a journey through time and through the heart of the city. Since 1909, when the first runners lined up beneath the Monumento a San Martín and set off toward the Plaza Independencia del Callao, this race has stood as a testament to Peruvian perseverance and passion. Now it is the world's oldest 21K and South America's most historic footrace. The course passes through both the traditional and modern landscapes of Lima's capital, from the Plaza de Armas with its centuries-old colonial architecture to the modern urban districts, finishing at the spectacular Circuito Mágico del Agua in Parque de la Reserva. The race welcomes runners and wheelchair athletes across multiple age categories, features a charity programme, and runs alongside a 10K on the same morning.
