Race Description
The Garmin Kansas City Half Marathon takes runners on a scenic but challenging loop through the city's most picturesque neighborhoods and landmarks. Starting and finishing near the iconic Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the paved route winds past the World War I Museum and Memorial, through the vibrant Power & Light District, and into historic Westport. The course is known for being hilly, featuring several long, gradual climbs—including a notoriously demanding ascent up the Paseo near mile 9. While the rolling terrain requires strategic pacing, runners are rewarded with strong crowd support and a fast, predominantly downhill final two miles to the finish festival.
