Jolster Half Marathon

The Jølster Half Marathon follows a lakeside route along Lake Jølstravatnet in western Norway’s beautiful countryside. The race starts at Jølstrahallen in the village of Vassenden before heading along rural roads that trace the southern edge of the lake. Runners follow long stretches beside the water with views of the surrounding mountains, farms, and distant glaciers. The course reaches a turnaround point along the lakeside before returning toward Vassenden for the finish. The terrain is mostly flat with only gentle elevation changes along the route. The lakeside roads provide open views across the water for much of the race. The dramatic natural setting creates a highly scenic and straightforward course.
