Race Description
The Australian Outback Half Marathon follows a unique off-road route through the famous red dirt of Australia’s Northern Territory. The race starts with runners perfectly positioned with their backs to Uluru, before heading along graded tracks, bush trails, and unsealed roads. Runners follow long stretches across the ancient seabed, encountering sections of soft sand and small dunes, all while taking in spectacular views of both Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). The course winds through the desert landscape before returning toward the resort precinct for the finish. The terrain is flat with almost no elevation gain, though the mix of sandy trails and red earth provides its own physical challenge.
