Race Description
The Auckland Half Marathon, part of the Runaway Auckland Marathon event, follows a scenic point-to-point route from Devonport on Auckland’s North Shore to the city centre. The race starts on King Edward Parade in Devonport, a seaside suburb overlooking the Waitematā Harbour, before guiding runners through the North Shore communities. After descending into central Auckland, the route continues along the waterfront past Westhaven Marina and through the modern precinct of Wynyard Quarter, before finishing in the lively atmosphere of Victoria Park on Fanshawe Street. The terrain is rolling, mainly due to the harbour bridge crossing and several smaller rises along the North Shore roads. Elevations range from near sea level to around 40–45 meters at the highest point on the bridge.
