Race Description
The Antarctic Ice Marathon is an elite, extreme endurance event held at Union Glacier Camp, located at 80 degrees South. Runners traverse a 42.195 km course on the interior of the continent, facing sub-zero temperatures, potential high winds, and snow-covered terrain. While the elevation gain is negligible, the "challenge" comes from the altitude (approx. 700m above sea level) and the demanding, energy-sapping surface of the polar plateau.
