Race Description
The Adelaide Half Marathon takes runners through the South Australian capital and its surrounding parklands, combining urban streets with expansive green spaces. The race starts near the Adelaide city center before heading into the Adelaide Park Lands, the large ring of parks that surrounds the downtown area. Runners follow tree-lined roads and pathways through open park sections while occasionally returning to city streets, creating a varied and scenic course. The route features 264 meters of total ascent and 262 meters of descent, with gentle rolling sections that reflect the natural terrain of the area. These gradual elevation changes add variety without significantly disrupting pacing for most runners. Along the way, participants pass quiet park areas, wide boulevards, and views of some of Adelaide’s central districts. The course is run mostly on paved roads and park paths, providing a smooth and comfortable surface throughout the race.
