Next Marathons is a platform designed to simplify the experience of discovering and registering for marathons and half marathons worldwide. By providing detailed information on races, including location, date, elevation, and availability, we help runners eliminate the hassle of searching multiple websites. Users can receive timely notifications for registration openings. Our mission is to let runners focus on their passion while ensuring they never miss their next starting line.

 

Role Description

This is a part-time, unpaid and remote (within the Netherlands) internship role for a Data Management Intern. The intern will learn about data management and support the co-founders by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data for marathon events. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating databases for accurate race information, increasing the size of the database, and collaborating to support business decision-making. The role also involves continuous improvement projects to standardize processes and reduce manual intervention.

We are looking for candidates who can begin their internship in June 2026, for a duration of 3-6 months, and can commit to at least 20 hours per week.

 

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor/master degree in a related field at a Dutch university

• Able to work without visa support in the Netherlands, remotely. We can only accept candidates living in the Netherlands.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets (we use Google Sheets), Python is a plus

• Excellent English skills (C1/C2)

• Strong analytical skills, ability to identify wrong values

• Familiarity with data management and analytics tools and methods

• Effective communication skills to present data findings and collaborate with team members

• Detail-oriented with organizational skills for accurate data handling
