Race Description
The Venice Marathon starts at Villa Pisani along the Riviera del Brenta and follows a point-to-point route toward the historic center of Venice. The first section runs past a series of historic Venetian villas along the Brenta River before passing through Marghera and Mestre, including sections around San Giuliano Park. Runners then cross into Venice via the Ponte della Libertà, a long, flat bridge, before entering the port area and the city’s historic center. The final kilometers are the most distinctive, featuring a pontoon bridge over the Grand Canal, passage through Piazza San Marco, and a finish along the waterfront at Riva Sette Martiri. The course is mostly flat, with a few short inclines between kilometers 25 and 35, and 14 small bridges in the final 3 km fitted with ramps.
