Race Description
The Galway Bay Run Marathon takes place in the coastal city of Galway on Ireland’s west coast. The course follows the shoreline of Galway Bay, offering views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding coastline. Runners pass through the seaside area of Salthill and along the popular promenade overlooking the bay. The race begins near the Claddagh and follows a looped course made up of two short laps followed by four longer laps. Participants run along closed roads through local neighborhoods before returning along the waterfront promenade.
