Race Description
The Rome Marathon (Maratona di Roma) takes runners through the historic center of Rome, passing many of the city’s most famous landmarks including the Colosseum, St. Peter’s Basilica, and Piazza Venezia. The course winds through ancient streets and wide boulevards, offering a scenic tour of the Italian capital and its historic monuments. Parts of the route include cobblestone sections, which add a distinctive challenge compared with many modern city marathons. The race finishes along Via dei Fori Imperiali near the Colosseum, creating a dramatic finish in the heart of the city.
