Race Description
The Porto Marathon starts and finishes in the coastal city of Porto, offering a scenic route that combines urban streets with long stretches along the Atlantic Ocean and the Douro River. The course heads out of the city toward the coastline, where runners follow flat, open roads with views of the ocean before turning inland along the Douro. The second half continues along the riverbanks and through residential areas before returning to the city center for the finish. The course is run entirely on paved roads and is known for its smooth layout and favorable conditions. The elevation profile is mostly flat with only small rises spread throughout the course and no sustained climbs.
