Race Description
The Paris Marathon (Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris) takes place in Paris, France, and runs through many of the city’s major avenues and landmarks. The race starts on the Champs-Élysées near the Arc de Triomphe and heads toward Place de la Concorde before continuing along Rue de Rivoli toward the Opéra Garnier and Place de la Bastille. The course then enters the Bois de Vincennes in the eastern part of the city before returning through central Paris and passing landmarks such as Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower. The final section runs through the Bois de Boulogne before finishing near Avenue Foch. The course is mostly flat with gentle undulations and is run entirely on paved city streets.
