Race Description
The Oslo Marathon takes place in Norway’s capital and features a looped course along the Oslofjord, combining waterfront running with urban streets. The route includes multiple loops, meaning runners tackle the same elevation profile more than once. Each loop features a sustained climb early on, rising from near sea level up to around 50–60 meters, followed by a descent back toward flatter coastal sections. This repeated pattern makes the course deceptively challenging, as the climbs accumulate over the full distance. The flatter sections along the waterfront allow for recovery, but overall pacing must account for the recurring elevation changes. The race finishes in the city center with strong crowd support.
