Race Description
The Björn Borg Helsinki Marathon is Finland's largest summer marathon, held each August in the Finnish capital along a course that combines city streets, scenic waterfronts and fast running lanes through the east and north of Helsinki. Starting from Meripuisto, runners follow the same initial route as the half marathon before, right after km 6, the marathon course diverges onto a large 20-kilometre loop through the Finnish landscape, passing by the island of Kulosaari and exploring the surroundings of Helsinki before returning to finish the course on the traces of the half marathon circuit. The course offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Finland and the Baltic Sea, with a slight marine scent to every breath of air.
