Race Description
The Gold Coast Marathon is known as one of the flattest and fastest marathon courses in the world, set along Australia’s scenic coastline. Starting in Southport, the route follows wide, flat roads along the Pacific Ocean, passing through Surfers Paradise, Main Beach, and Burleigh Heads. The course features long straight sections with minimal turns, making it ideal for maintaining a consistent pace. With ocean views for much of the race and typically mild winter conditions, it is a popular choice for runners targeting personal bests or qualification times. The terrain remains consistently flat throughout, with only very minor undulations.
