Race Description
The Denver Marathon, part of the Colfax Marathon weekend, takes place in Denver, Colorado, and offers a varied urban course with views of the Rocky Mountains. The race typically starts in the city center and follows Colfax Avenue, one of the longest continuous streets in the United States. Runners pass through several Denver neighborhoods including downtown, City Park, and residential districts, with sections that highlight both urban scenery and green spaces. The course includes a mix of gradual climbs and descents, influenced by Denver’s altitude and rolling terrain. Portions of the route pass near landmarks such as the Denver Zoo and City Park, and some sections include long straight stretches along major avenues. The elevation and thinner air make the race more demanding than typical city marathons.
