Race Description
The Christchurch Marathon takes place in Christchurch, New Zealand. The course follows a largely flat route through the city, including long sections alongside the Avon River and through Hagley Park. The marathon is structured as multiple laps of the same loop, which allows runners to pass through the central city area several times during the race. Much of the route runs on wide, straight roads and park paths, with consistent elevation and minimal changes in gradient. The race takes place in April, when temperatures in Christchurch are typically cool and stable, often around 8–16 °C.
