Race Description
The Chicago Marathon takes place in the United States’ third-largest city and features a flat, single-loop course through downtown Chicago and its surrounding neighborhoods. The route starts and finishes in Grant Park and passes through a wide range of districts, including Lincoln Park, Lakeview, and Chinatown, offering continuous crowd support throughout. The course is run entirely on road surfaces (asphalt and concrete) with wide streets and minimal turns, allowing for consistent pacing. Elevation changes are minimal, with only slight rises over bridges and no sustained climbs, making it one of the fastest marathon courses in the world.
