Race Description
The Cape Town Marathon offers a scenic and varied course set between mountains and coastline in one of Africa’s most visually striking cities. Starting near the city center, runners pass landmarks such as Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, and Green Point, with a mix of urban roads and coastal stretches. The early kilometers feature gentle rolling terrain, followed by a long steady middle section where maintaining rhythm is key. A noticeable climb appears around the 31–32 km mark, providing the main challenge of the course, before transitioning into a gradual downhill run toward the finish. The combination of scenery, sea breeze, and varied terrain makes it both memorable and moderately challenging.
