Race Description
The Calgary Marathon takes place in Alberta, Canada, and offers a scenic course that combines urban pathways with natural river landscapes. The route starts near downtown Calgary and follows the Bow River, guiding runners through a network of parks and paved pathways. Early kilometers are relatively flat with gentle undulations, but the middle section features a sustained climb that peaks around the halfway to two-thirds mark, making pacing strategy important. After the high point, the course trends gradually downhill, allowing runners to regain rhythm in the final kilometers. The race finishes back near the city center, with a mix of urban energy and green surroundings throughout.
