Race Description
The Budapest Marathon takes place in Hungary’s capital and follows a scenic course along both sides of the Danube River, connecting Buda and Pest. The route passes many of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Parliament, Chain Bridge, Buda Castle, and Margaret Island. The course features long, flat stretches, with several bridge crossings that introduce gentle inclines and descents. Elevation remains low throughout, with only minor undulations and no sustained climbs, allowing runners to maintain a steady rhythm. The layout combines wide roads and river views, making it both visually appealing and suitable for consistent pacing.
