Race Description
The Bali Marathon, officially known as the Maybank Marathon, takes place on the Indonesian island of Bali near the town of Gianyar. The course runs through traditional villages, rice fields and rural countryside roads, offering runners a view of everyday Balinese life. Participants pass temples, tropical landscapes and quiet local communities while experiencing the island’s culture and hospitality. The route features rolling terrain with several gradual climbs and descents throughout the race. With tropical temperatures and humid conditions, the environment adds an additional challenge for runners. The event is recognized by World Athletics with Elite Label status, making it one of the most prominent marathons in Southeast Asia. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and scenic setting, the race attracts runners from across the world. The combination of culture, community support and tropical scenery makes it a unique marathon experience.
