Race Description
The Australian Outback Marathon takes place in Australia’s Red Centre near the iconic landmarks of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The course runs across desert tracks, red dirt roads and bush trails surrounded by vast open landscapes. Runners experience the remote beauty of the Australian Outback with views of Uluru, sand dunes and expansive desert plains. The route includes sections of graded dirt roads, bush tracks and soft sandy terrain typical of the region. Small dunes and gentle rises appear along the course, but the overall profile is considered relatively flat. The race passes desert landmarks and remote tracks while showcasing the dramatic scenery of central Australia. Participants run through one of the country’s most famous natural environments under wide open skies. Known for its adventurous atmosphere, the event attracts runners from around the world seeking a truly unique marathon experience.
